It's a strong commitment for this young boy, and a great desire to change the lives of many people through small gestures. Sebastian is now president of the Cem 34 Emilio Perez student center in Ingeniero Huergo.

This weekend, Argentina elects its president for the next four years, against a backdrop of severe economic crisis, with neither incumbent president Alberto Fernández nor his vice-president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner standing for re-election. In the second round, far-right Libertarian candidate Javier Milei will face off against Sergio Massa, a member of the outgoing Peronist coalition, leaving much of the country under pressure lest the far-right form its next government.

This context has prompted us to redouble our efforts in the fight against socio-economic inequalities. We are therefore delighted to have been able to deliver bicycles this weekend to Julia, Alicia, Lautaro and Zoe, children from remote areas no longer served by public transport, whose family situations are very complex.

Solidarity on the move: on the road to collecting smiles!

Super Joaquin is 4 years old and suffering from a brain tumor. He overcame chemo and started the remission phase. This little superhero from Mainque's Santa Lucia district teaches us that you can always fight with a smile.

On July 4, we were contacted by José, a young resident of Aguada Guzmán. In a video, he describes the difficulties facing his village and asks us if we can help.

This is the reality of the inhabitants of Aguada Guzmán, a small village in the department of El Cuy, 200 km from our home (Ingeniero Huergo), 100 km of which is a stony road, in the north of Argentine Patagonia.

The only way to get there is via the unpaved provincial road 74. The village of 150 inhabitants is therefore very difficult to access for anyone without a vehicle.

The village is not connected to the electricity grid, nor does it have a cell phone network or Internet access. Electricity is supplied by a generator that cannot be used 24 hours a day.

The village is also not connected to the natural gas network. Residents use bottled gas. For the non-vehicular inhabitants, a system of solidarity between neighbors is organized.

Finally, the village has no water supply either. Inhabitants therefore have to obtain their water from the Provincial Development Commission.The nearest school to the village is several kilometers away, and since the Province stopped public transport services (considered too "expensive"), families in precarious situations and without vehicles can no longer take their children to school, despite the fact that schooling is compulsory in Argentina from age 6 to 14.

So this weekend, our team went to Aguada Guzmán to deliver bicycles to the village's children (around twenty of them) so that they can get to school.

Supervised by the KEDGE BUSINESS SCHOOL, Recogida Argentina began in France with a fund-raising campaign via stands and an online kitty, calling on our network and companies. 

Once they arrived in Argentina in March 2023, they organized school supplies collections via stands in front of bookshops in Buenos Aires. In all, 40 supply kits (comprising 40 notebooks, 20 pens and 20 pencils) were collected in Bueno Aires and delivered to La Plata, where our Argentinean team came to collect them.
